Belova’s work restructures the preconceived traditional notion of gender - exploring the sexuality in an androgenous and abstract body through tactility and fragmentation. Her sculptures are abstractions of the body, exploring it in context of the global concept of intimacy demonstrated by religion. Experimenting with religious Baroque aesthetics, by using its particular elements, analyzing those elements and combining them with elements of pop culture and bionics. Her visual colllages investigate sexuality in a new, androgynous body, by transforming it. Belova regards the sculpture as a fixed moment of a subjective fragment of reality, expanding its visual perception through tactility.
